Saint-Gobain Advanced Ceramics (Stand 6G54): Replacing Graphite in the Light metals industries

16 August 2010 | By ALUMINIUM in Exhibitors, Material

Saint-Gobain Advanced Ceramics is the world’s largest producer of Boron Nitride solid materials for high temperature applications. New Combat Grade ZBN60 Boron Nitride Composite is a silicate-free, machinable, inert ceramic material with the unique combination of:

• Wear Resistance
• Oxidation Temperature 200C+ > Graphite
• Thermal Conductivity
• Thermal Shock Resistance
• Large Size Capability

These valuable properties are now available in the aluminum industry in a hot-pressed product. It is the ideal choice for nozzles, guides, bushings, and casting rings where tight tolerances and fine surfaces are required.

Combat Grade ZBN60 is available in unlimited configurations and sizes up to 490 X 490 X 150MM. Only ZBN60 BN composite has the combined properties of high temperature strength, inertness and design flexibility to do what ordinary refractory materials often cannot.
