A prestigious event that will be showcasing sustainable aluminium intensive solutions for current and future generations.

As a sponsor we’re confident that our customers as well as their customers will recognize and appreciate our support of this program. By creating a platform through which they can put their latest innovations in the spotlight, we hope that new ideas and applications for aluminium will come to life.

Our expectation is that the Jury of the 2010 Aluminium Awards will undertake an effective selection in order to present the most innovative, sustainable and attractive solutions. This is good for the participants, creates value for us and our industry, but also for society at large.”

Lightness – an outstanding property of aluminium

April 30th, 2010 | By ALUMINIUM in Automotive, Material, Technology | No Comments »

Aluminium is strong, corrosion-resistant and lightweight. It is suitable for precision-working, is conductive and has its own aesthetic appeal. The outstanding properties of aluminium make it ideal for innovative developments and visionary product design – and help to protect the environment.

At the ALUMINIUM 2010 you will experience the full range of application possibilities for aluminium – the material of the future with unique properties which show how innovation and environment-friendliness can go hand-in-hand.

Lightness
The lightness of aluminium, its ability to combine low weight with high strength, stability and corrosion-resistance, makes it a superior material for lightweight construction.  Weight reduction lowers fuel consumption and also CO2 emissions in the car-making industry. Aluminium-based lightweight construction helps turn visions into reality in many areas.

The ALUMINIUM 2010 will be showcasing future state-of-the-art technology, demonstrating how innovation and environment-friendliness can go hand-in-hand, across all industries.

The GDA will be the congress partner of ALUMINIUM 2010

April 16th, 2010 | By ALUMINIUM in Congress | No Comments »

For many years, the ALUMINIUM congress has complemented the fair. For the first time, the German Aluminium Industry Association (GDA) will plan and organize the 2010 congress.

Together with its subsidiary organizations, as the industry representative, the GDA will utilize all its expertise for the congress. From the industry for the industry – the congress will primarily deal with the needs of the aluminium processing industry.

Five different sessions with six 15 to 20 minute presentations on the application related topics of “Processes”, “Automotive”, “Transport”, “Surface” and “Aluminium Market”. All sessions can be individually reserved. The conference will be held in English.

Each day of the congress begins at 9.30 am and continues until 4.30 pm. The individual sessions with their six presentations will last for half a day and will be combined by the themes so that the visitors to the congress will have the opportunity to spend the second half of the day at the fair.

Welcome to the ALUMINIUM 2010 Blog!

Dear Readers,

ALUMINIUM 2010 continues to forge ahead. 650 exhibitors from 40 countries have already registered. Five months before the start of the fair, we are highly optimistic that we will be able to get many more undecided companies to take part in ALUMINIUM by 14 September.

Despite the current economic climate where aluminium is concerned, many companies consider their presence at the fair to be absolutely essential. Especially now, a large number of exhibitors have decided on ALUMINIUM so as to demonstrate their presence here to the whole industry; over 100 companies will come to Essen for the very first time in September. This demonstrates the considerable trust that the industry has in this fair.

Every second company at ALUMINIUM 2010 comes from abroad. For the first time there will be a Danish Pavilion, whilst the pavilions from China, India, France, the Netherlands and Norway have increased in size. The demand for special formats, like the theme pavilions, confirms our concept.

ALUMINIUM brings together not just the trade but also representatives from the most important application industries. To improve in future the networking between our exhibitors and visitors, we are starting our ALUMINIUM Blog and other social media activities (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, XING and LinkedIn). Here we will keep you informed about new features at the fair and within the whole industry. You are also invited to participate. Inform us of your innovations and successes and interact now with the industry.

We are now able to inform you of what you can expect in September at ALUMINIUM 2010 in Essen.

Yours Markus M. Jessberger
