02 September 2010 | By ALUMINIUM in Exhibitors

The Aluminum Valley is located in Canada, in the province of Quebec and more specifically in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, two hours north of Quebec City. Since 1927 Alcan, now known as Rio Tinto Alcan, has been producing aluminum through the facilities of the multinational. The main reason for the presence of these installations is based on the hydro-electric capacity in our region. With over 1 million metric tons of aluminum production, the region occupies a strategic position in the production and processing of aluminum on the national and the international scene.

The Aluminum Valley collects nearly 37% of SMEs in aluminum processing. We regroup today more than 90 companies, including multinationals and SMEs, several research centers of international stature of over 300 researchers as well as various training programs specific to the aluminium industry.

We regroup specialized suppliers who serve the smelters and also companies specialized in semifinished aluminum products. Our industrial cluster includes companies in finished products and addedvalue and aluminum industry scrap recycling business to ensure sustainable development.

Furthermore, the Aluminum Valley is an ideal place for investor’s and offers considerable financial benefits, low operating costs, competitive salaries, many tax credits specific to this localization and an outstanding personal support to guide you through your approaches. Based in North America, the Aluminum Valley has access to a market of 700 million consumers and is located in a free trade area.
