03 September 2010 | By ALUMINIUM in Exhibitors
When customers and other interested parties visit the first time ever Danish Pavillion at the Essen fair, they will not only meet exhibitors from the danish aluminium industry. They will also be able to meet and talk to representatives from the Danish Technical University (DTU), AluConsult, The danish trade media J&M, the Royal Danish Embassy in Berlin and the the Danish aluminium association. All together with the exhibiting companies they will all add to the picture of what is behind the Alu-Made in Denmark concept.
KnowHow is undoubtly key in todays global competitive environment. The need for added value coming from a close partnership between industry and science is important in the everyday life of our industry and therfore also when we promote our industry on the export market says: Sector expert from the Embassy in Berlin Christian Östergaard and Jim Hansen, from the Danish Aluminium Association. With the support from the Royal Danish Export Council we took on the challenge to establish this joint danish pavilion in Essen.
This is what you can learn more about visiting the Danish Pavillion 5B01 Hall 5:
State-of-the-Art Surface technologies from DTU science program – IdeAl Surfaces.
The project mainly has two segments:
(i) Environmentally friendly corrosion protection of alloyed aluminium parts, among others by avoiding the use of chromium and increasing the possibility of using recycled aluminium.
(ii) Design of durable optical effects using aluminium based plasma coatings on a wide variety of substrate materials, e.g. recycled aluminium, steel and other metals, polymers, composites and ceramics.
Have a look at the result of DTU student project which will participate in Young Designers Award!
